Summary/Objective

Providing Universal and Cohort Law Related Education, school safety assessments, risky behavior intervention, and prevention for students at Kingman High School and Black Mountain School. 

 

Essential Functions

  1. Responding to all internal and external customers, as it relates to position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner
  2. Provide a minimum of 20 hours of Cohort Law Related Education to Priority Focus Areas per campus, per year.
  3. Provide a minimum of 30 hours of Universal Law Related Education to all students per campus, per year.
  4. Provide staff training for Law Related Education twice per year, per campus.
  5. Provide community training through family engagement events once per year, per campus.
  6. Participate in School Safety and Prevention Team meetings to review needs assessment data and the operational plan once per quarter, per campus.
  7. Keep a Weekly Activity Log that tracks LRE instruction times, teachers, subjects, time spent planning lesson, and any time spent off campus.
  8. Encourage students to respect rules, laws, and persons in authority by providing a balanced view of civic roles.
  9. Maintaining the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
  10. Maintains knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations and rules
  11. Performs related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This job operates at Kingman High School and Black Mountain School.

  1. Regularly required to sit and talk or hear
  2. Regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms
  3. Frequently the employee will co-teach lessons for an entire class period
  4. Use specific vision including close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

At Will Notice of Employment does not provide a guarantee of a particular schedule of work, or a minimum number of days or hours.

This is a 10-month, 40-hour per week benefited position.  Employee will work ten hours per day Monday through Thursday.  Extended work hours to meet deadlines may occasionally be required.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Fundamental knowledge of law enforcement and public safety
  3. Ability to work with staff, students, and families to promote a positive image of law enforcement

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Two to three years’ experience in related field.

Required Certifications/Licenses

Must either be an active or retired law enforcement officer that is in good standing with the Mohave County Sherriff’s Office.

 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
