Description

The school psychologist is responsible for improving the educational experiences of children who demonstrate learning difficulties and enable them to benefit from their instructional program; to collaborate and consult with parents, teachers, and District personnel in designing, implementing and evaluating interventions at individual, school, and district levels. 

 

Kingman is located in northwestern Arizona in the Hualapai Valley between the Cerbat and Hualapai Mountain ranges. Kingman is known as “The Heart of Historic Route 66” and is ideally situated between Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and the Grand Canyon. 

 

Requires a master's or a more advanced degree from an accredited institution and one of the following:

  1. Completion of a graduate program in school psychology, consisting of at least 60 graduate semester hours
  2. Completion of a doctoral program in psychology and completion of a retraining program in school psychology from an accredited institution or board-approved program with a letter of institutional endorsement from the head of the school psychology program
  3. Five years of experience within the last 10 years working full time in the capacity of a school psychologist in a school setting serving any portion of grades kindergarten through 12, verified by the school district superintendent or human resources department. Please submit a letter from the district superintendent, personnel director, or designee to verify experience
  4. NCSP credential
  5. A diploma in school psychology from the American Board of School Psychology
