This regular, full-time teaching position for the 2018-2019 school year is at Kingman Unified School District's Kingman High School, which is a 9-12 grade school in Kingman, Arizona. Under the leadership of Principal Rusty Moomey, Kingman High is committed to academic excellence. Together with families and the community, the staff and students work toward clearly focused educational goals and strive to establish and promote high expectations that advance rigorous learning, character development and productive citizenship for all students. As a teacher, you will have a 148-day contract and will work a four-day week (Monday through Thursday), leaving you time to enjoy long weekends with family and friends. Depending upon your education and experience, your initial salary placement will range from $31,000 to $42,900. In addition, you will be eligible to earn $5,000-$7,000 in 301 money. The successful applicant will have or be able to obtain a valid State of Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and valid Arizona Teaching Certificate.

Kingman is located in northwestern Arizona in the Hualapai Valley between the Cerbat and Hualapai Mountain ranges. Kingman is known as “The Heart of Historic Route 66” and is ideally situated between Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and the Grand Canyon. As a teacher in the Kingman Unified School District #20 (KUSD), you will have plenty of time to enjoy the beauty of Arizona and ideal southwestern climate of Kingman, due to a four-day work week and a “45-10” school calendar that features a two week Fall break, a two week Winter break, a two week Spring break, and seven weeks off in the summer! The first day for new teachers for the 2018-2019 school year is July 17, 2018; the last day for teachers is May 23, 2019.
