Summary/Objective

Assisting in providing quality child care in a nurturing, safe environment using developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Essential Functions

  1. Responding to all internal and external customers, as it relates to position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner
  2. Supervising children in the child development program including play periods, meal time, field trips, assemblies, bathroom and emergency drills
  3. Assisting with developing and creating bulletin boards, signs, borders and classroom displays
  4. Assisting students with various physical, emotional and educational needs
  5. Alerting the director/supervisor to any problem or special information about a student
  6. Maintaining the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
  7. Working in collaboration with other staff to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment
  8. Keeping educational materials, equipment and the general room environment neat, safe and clean
  9. Maintaining knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations and rules
  10. Performing related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner
  11. Assisting with the supervision of high school interns

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

At Will Notice of Employment does not provide a guarantee of a particular schedule of work, or a minimum number of days or hours.

This is a 12-month, substitute, part time or full time position.  Employee will work scheduled hours per day Monday through Friday.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent

Working with children.

 

Required Certifications/Licenses

Documentation of current negative TB test.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
